Complimentary Webinar

Race-related discrimination can impact Asian Canadians in all industries and at every stage of their careers. Even those working in leading professions such as the legal sector may face the impact of conscious or unconscious bias. Learning from the experiences of other established Asian Canadians can help legal sector participants find success in all aspects of their career progression; from law school, to legal practice and right up to the judiciary.

In recognition of Asian Heritage Month in May, join us for a panel discussion with Justice Maryka Omatsu, the first female judge of East Asian descent in Canada; Julia Shin Doi, founder of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers and Korean Canadian Lawyers Association; and Henry Yu, award-winning author of Thinking Orientals: Migration, Contact, and Exoticism in Modern America.

Hear from our esteemed panellists as they discuss their challenges and achievements over their legal career. Learn about the current issues faced by the Asian-Canadian legal community, and practical tips for non-Asian lawyers to set a precedent for allyship and foster inclusive workplaces with Asian-Canadian lawyers and clients.
