Construction company in Saskatchewan fined for failing to pay wages

A construction company in Saskatchewan has been fined more than $11,000 for failing to pay wages.
Grandview Homes Ltd., which operates in Saskatoon, pled guilty to violating four counts under the province’s Employment Standards Act.
On Sept. 2, 2021, Grandview Homes Ltd. and Raj Toor, corporate director of Grandview Homes Ltd., were charged with four violations for failing to pay wages within 14 days of the end of employment.
As a result of these charges, the court fined Grandview Homes Ltd. $2,000 plus a $800 victim surcharge on each of the four counts, for a total amount of $11,200.
